Odometer not lighting up

The Odo on my '02 Aztek stopped lighting up when a new radio was installed. There is no clear relationship between said install and the odo and no one I have spoken to can come up with a cause.

I pulled the panel and tested another one - same deal...All the instruments work, but the odo is not lit up.

Anyone have a clue to spare?

Did your factory radio have speed controlled variable volume control? if so you will need to rethink your aftermarket radio install.
I worked on a car once where the speedometer operation was intermittent and erratic, turned out the owners child feed the cd player penny's and dimes.
So there may be a disconnected wire that you need to apply power or ground to that the factory radio used to supply.
I know it is a bit of reach but its worth looking into.

did you cut wires or use the correct plug in wire harness adapter?
