I have a massive oil leak. like a qt every 100 miles... when i park on an incline there is a big puddle.

I just finished the intake gasket (have to wait 24 hours for RTV to set before starting)

I am considering the idea that i may have a bad rea main seal as well. Any tips on replacing this? also does anyone have a link to the right installer tool for it or a trick to help instal the new seal?

ALSO after replacing the intake manifold gasket i think i forgot a vac hose.
I circled it in orange on the picture in the link. There is a sensor or something mounted on passenger side of intake. I think there is suposed to be a vac hose pluggin into the back of it? any advice there would be super great

many thanks

more details such as what year, etc.?
did you clean the engine and actually observe its coming from the rear seal and not the pan gasket?

96 trans am 5.7l lt1 auto trans 150k miles

I have not cleaned it all yet, it was wet by the intake so i have replaced that and and now going to see if i can get under it while running and see the leak

if you google "image 1996 LT-1" you will get lots of engine pictures showing you the hose connection.
You realize you have a 1 piece rear seal and will have to pull the trani if the seal is the source of the leak?
