The oil pressure light has turned on on my Pontiac Grand Am 2000 4 cylinder. I've read the manual and it states that it's on due to "little amount of oil getting to the engine, it's either low on oil or another oil problem". The oil level is good so what could it be?

Chances are the engine either has a bad sender or the oil pressure to the engine bearings has dropped to a point it's no longer suppling the engine properly (causing engine damage) you should listen for any abnormal noises, and if you have not heard any I would suggest you start with replacing the sender or having a manual guage hooked up to check for proper pressure (usually 15-80 PSI) anything below 15 Psi at Idle hot indicates an issue with the oil system that may require parts or engine replacment..
if the pressure checks good just have the sender replaced and you should be fine ..
good luck !
