On my '97 Pontiac Grand am, I am having troubles with the breaks. Sometimes I have to push ALL the

way down.. while usually I don't. Also sometimes the front of the car shakes while breaking. I've had the breaks and rotors replaced last year so that can't be the problem.
Thanks for all your input. I really hope that it's something simple to fix and won't cost me much (when is it ever though) cuze I have a big road trip coming up soon. From the sounds of it I may have to find other means of transportation.
 
If the front of the car is shaking you may have a bad tie rod end (inner or outer) balljoint or possibly a really bad wheel bearing / C/V joint..
I would definately have it checked right away by a certified Tech..
