Overfilling the coolant?

Is it possible to overfill the coolant?

Because once I got my car hot enough it started spitting coolant out of the reservoir followed by a "glugg , glugg" sound coming from under the drivers side area. do I need a flush or did I overfill my coolant system??

Yes you can over-fill the system if you fill up the resevoir all the way when it is cold.

But the noise heard from under the car can be thermal shock if there is air in the system or your waterpump isn't working. What engine is it? Does it overheat? You should do a flush and fill then make sure you burp the system to get all the air out.

Hey Orief,

Its the 2.8L v6. It doesn't overheat and ive been driving it lately and hasnt been doing it :/? althought when it did start gushing fluid that one day the temp did spike.
