MY sunfire has been messed up since I used bars leak radiator stop leak.
It stopped the leak and it started overheating. Heat started working and not working, now it hasn't worked last few days except maybe 10-20 seconds a few times while driving. I thought maybe it clogged the thermostat but changed it and didn't see any residue or gunk in there, water in plastic jug is pretty clear at this point. Someone said maybe air in the system, I opened bleeder valve and also tried removing top hose that goes into plastic jug. If I pull over when it overheats and open jug, it's full and if I take the top hose off the jug and crank it steam shoots out of the hose but no water.
Starting to wonder if water pump is really pumping water.

what year?
what engine?
why did you put stop leak in the cooling system, where was it leaking?
water pumps typically leak they dont stop pumping.

2000
2.2 v4
radiator had a trickle coming down side of it, could not see leaking point just water dripping from lower corner

since all of this started after adding the stop leak i would assume the radiator is clogged. Either replace the radiator with a new one or have it repaired and cleaned or find a junk yard radiator and clean it.
I assume when you bled the system after changing the thermostat you followed the procedure below.
1.Open the bleeder valve on the heater return pipe.
2.Fill the cooling system through the surge tank until coolant is expelled out of the heater return pipe bleeder valve. Close the bleeder valve.
3.Top off coolant level in the surge tank to a level even with the flat horizontal wall below the vent lines, about 25.4 mm (1 inch) below the filler neck.
4.Leave the surge tank cap off and start engine.
5.The thermostat is considered open when the upper radiator hose is hot at the radiator connection.
6.Turn HVAC controls to heater, full hot. Check for warm air during the first 5 minutes after the engine is started, If no hot air is present, start the procedure again at step 4.
7.Top off the coolant, if necessary, to the same level as in step 7.
8.Install the surge tank cap
