If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "1995 Trans Am" isn't going to indicate to anybody that you need help. However, "Need help with my 1995 Trans Am" will. Be as descriptive as you can. Please use common sense... driftpontiac

I have a 1986 Parisienne that was left to me by my grandfather. I love this car to death, but unfortunately the factory 307 seems to be on it's last leg. A friend of mine suggested that I drop in a 350. And I've been thinking more and more about it and I might want to do that. So my question is this. Will the 350 fit without much modification? My friend and his brother have offered to help me out with the transplant. It's old and GM shouldn't it fit right in?? I don't know much about older domestics, I'm more of an import guy. But I'm willing to learn. If the 350 will go in with no problems then I think I'll mess with the 307 and rebuild it eventually. I'd appreciate any help you could give me. Thanks a bunch.

"350"

350,307,305, are almost exactly the same, aside from bore and stroke.Your going to want to get an engine from roughly the same vintage vehicle in order to make an easy swap.Probably going to have to use your 307 intake and exhaust manifolds, they'll bolt right up to the 350...hope this helps,MHA

Your car would have a 307 "olds" Not a Chevrolet engine you will need to make sure what it is but the 307 Chevrolet engine was discontinued in 1972 so it is unlikely it was a factory installed engine in the car..
to put a chevrolet engine in you will need to put Caprice / Impala engine mounts and frame mounts in and change the radiator, and Trans also as the one for the Olds is a Corprate buick ,olds, Pontiac, transmission that wont bolt up to a chevrolet engine .. it's a fairly easy swap but will require alot of parts to change over to a Chev drivetrain...
you will also meed exhaust and manifolds off of a Caprice / Impala to put it in your chassis
if you could locate a "parts car" it would make it easier to do ..

summit racing sells an adapter plate to put a BOP tranny on a amall block chevy its costs somewhere around 50 bucks i think and as far as the radiator goes.. you can just get flexible universal hoses or a different angled t-stat housing... or you could just find another 307 and keep it origional.. there fairly cheap i got one in my garage now i would sell you for 50 bucks... i have no idea if it runs good or not but it turns over

hope this helps..im thinking about putting a 400 small block in my 85 parisienne
