Passcode 2 Bypass

I have a 2004 Grand Am 2.2L, great car, have no complaints other then twice now I have started car and it shuts off with in 2 seconds. This is as I understand now the Passcode 2 system shutting down injectors...The 10 minute reset has worked but I am looking for a bypass to the system completely. Looking for anyone with suggestions or someone that has done it successfully. I have found several ways around it online but am looking for feedback before I continue...reading online posts, this seems to be a HUGE GM problem, too bad they don't stand behind it.

Do you have a check engine light on? Does the security light come on or flash when this happens?

As this has only happened 1 time after the initial time I had it towed, I believe the only light on while engine is cranking but not starting is the service engine soon light
 
You had it towed somewhere and what did they do to try and fix it?

The day i had it towed, they re installed the security system for $100. It worked fine for several weeks. They also noted if it does it again to try the 10 minute on position (that did work) and i may need to replace ignition switch but was very costly. I right now am looking for a way around the system completely.

If thats the path you want to take you will find articles on the internet to bypass the system. Here is an example. I would also get an estimate from another shop for replacing the switch and key sensor.

Have tried replacing the key? The computer may not be reading the chip in the key properly every time. Had that problem with my Buick and a new key resolved it.
