Hey guys! Been a while since I've posted here. I'm still clinging to my Sunfire which runs so great, still. There's just been an issue that's cropped up that's really frickin unusual.

So I haven't identified a pattern yet, but something's happening that's causing 1-3 inches of water to appear on my floorboard. When I say water, I really mean water, not coolant, or oil, which both aren't water. This has only happened when the car is sitting, and it's happened a couple times. I tried to see if it was the sunroof leaking and it's not, there's no water stains on the ceiling and the seats aren't wet. it's really weird.

So today I took off my wiper blades and the lower windshield cowl to see if there was water getting in there. There's a few leaves and things that got in, but it's pretty clean. I see the passenger side has an AC intake, which has some raised flaps around it probably to keep water out. (It's about 1 inch tall welded to the frame).

Any guesses where the water might be coming from?

Have you tried using a water hose and spray one area at a time till you find the leak

I don't have a water hose. Or a faucet for that matter. But I did have a gallon jug of water. I poured it over my car and waited for it to settle before opening up and looking. There was a lot of water on the passenger side door and running down the inner side.

bad seal or weather stripping probably

I found the leak. It's right above the sunroof drainage pipe, where the bolt connected to the top of the car. It then runs down the pipe and collects on the floor.

Is there a weather seal on the sunroof? I'm thinking of just caulking the area.

So the story is this. The drain on the passenger side was clogged with gunk. Clearing it allowed the water to drain, but I decided to keep pouring and eventually I noticed water leaking again. Turns out there's a gap in the frame (by design) above the drain that allows air and (if there's a lot) water to drain into the cabin area.

it looks like it's there by design, but I don't like that, so it's caulked now.

thanks for the update
