First post here! Similarly, I have an apparent passlock failure. 06 Torrent had a Python remote start system with DB3 bypass installed in 2020. Jan and Feb 2021 it died 3 times while driving, fortunately the last time in our driveway. At that point it would start with the remote FOB, but not with the key. After the key was inserted, depressing the brake pedal killed the engine. Attempted key relearn procedure, no help. Battery went dead after the week of sub-zero weather, so now it has a new battery. After attempting to reprogram the DB3, the remote now starts the vehicle but only if the key is in the ignition. Still can't start with the key, or drive it away. I am attempting at this point to learn as much as possible about the passlock system. How can I determine exactly which passlock system is used in my vehicle? Next step will be to learn how to disable it. Should I remove all of the Python remote system and DB3?
