bought a 70 lemans with the pertronix ign in it, does it get timed like it had points just disconnect vacuum line? haven't't looked at it yet thought I ask someone who has done it already, thanks

Yes, just like points you should check the timing, vacuum advance disconnected just to make sure the last person set it correctly. Unlike points it's doubtful you will ever have to check again.

I would also recommend you carry a spare Pentronix unit, while I had decent luck with them in the past, unlike points you can not just file them to get back on the road, I had a failure on a trip about 3 hours from home, and had to wait for a new unit to be delivered. When I started carrying a spare I had no issues.
