Thanks for the link to the information. But that apparently doesn't seem to work if one is using their smartphone to post. That or I'm really not getting it. Am I able to copy/paste pictures from a smartphone on a reply?

Flywheel ID help

Ok guys, got the pictures uploaded. The old flywheel is obviously what came off the car; a 1964 Catalina with an M20 4-spd conversion. When I called to get a replacement flywheel, this is what they sent me. The mechanic and I are not sure if it'll even work, but felt it better to surface the old flywheel and reinstall. Not that it doesn't need a new one...soon, but one, will that new one work, and two, if not what kind of wheel do I have and where can I order another one? Thanks as always for the help.

Yes, the engine is a 389, 12h block. Both are a 166 tooth ring gear and can accept a 10.5" to 11" clutch. Only difference was the location of ring gear in relation to the clutch surface. The previous owner has installed a heavy duty clutch/brake pedal assembly but the z-bar and the rest of linkage in the engine compartment look to be out of a Chevy truck. David from David's Four Speeds said it might be some kind of rare 1964 only flywheel.

there is something unique about 1964. I have the dealer parts manual from 1983. They show the application of the two flywheels 9977932 and 9977934 from 1965 and up and have nothing for 1964. Try speaking to someone at Wallace Racing or Butler Performance. good luck.

Will do. Thanks for the help and advice. Hopefully I'll get it ironed out. If Butler doesn't know, I may have to track down a Pontiac engineer.

Thanks again,
Sean
