plz help id this part

hello everyone new here found lots of good info but i need help to id a part.
it looks like some kind of pump has wires hooked to it and to coolant lines going to it. here is a link to a pic of it

would like to know what it is and what it does thanks

This electric water pump. The pump is installed for better coolant circulation, protecting the engine from overheating.

thank you very much mine does not work due to a broken wire inside would this cause little heat inside the van ?

thank you very much i fixed the wire tested it to make sure it turns on so now to put it back on the van and see if it makes a diff thanks for your help
