I need to know is it possible to upgrade a Pontiac Grand AM 2000SE with a 2.4L V4 into a 2.8L V6! I know ive seen Grand Am 2000SE cars with 6 cylinder engines but I wasnt sure if there was a specific restriction on the 4 cylinder Grand Am SE 2000's or not! Thanx for any help!!

You would need the engine, the computer, the engine wiring harness and possibly a transmission if it does not use a compatible one.

Go with the 3.1/3.4 if you do the swap. Just find a donor car and you should have almost everything you need.

FYI, its not a v4, its an i4 as in inline 4 cylinder. I think one engine somewhere along the line years back was an actual v4, v refers to the cylinder heads of an engine being pitched on the sides looking like a v so to speak. Like the 6 cylinders in these cars for example, if you look at the valve covers there is one on each side of the engine and if you looked at the engine out of the car the heads would be at a v shape. Just giving you some useful info before some one along the line decides to get nasty with you about when you say v4 lol.
