Pontiac 2007 Key stuck in Accessory when shifting to park

Hey everyone,

I am having intermittent problems getting my key out of my car. It happens when I shift into park and gets stuck in accessory not allowing me to turn it one more click to get it out. Here is what I know:

- The key is always getting stuck in accessory, the car starts fine and runs fine
- I can turn the car off and the key to accessory but it stops there and won't turn one more click to get the key out
- Sometimes if I wait it will release on its own and let me turn one more click to get the key out
- Sometimes if I wiggle the shift or shift in and out of park it will release the key and let me turn it and get it out

Thoughts?

I've been doing some research and found maybe it could be the shift cable? solenoid?
It is definitely not a lubrication thing as they key turns and moves completely fine - definitely something electrical.

I remember having problems with getting the key out and could not turn the it off back in 2009-2010. My service history shows I had the "Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement" replaced twice back then within a year of each other.

I vaguely also remembering a problem where lose change got stuck into where the shifter is but I did not know and could not see it. That caused some problems to.

Key stuck in ignition of Pontiac Torrent?

Hey.. Ive got a Pontiac Torrent, And I just put my key in the ignition and everything turned off. no lights, nothing! And the key is stuck in the ignition and it wont come out. Does anyone know what to do?.. Thanks ALOT in advance. Yes Its In Park.. And The key Doesn't turn all the way to turn...
