Pontiac Fiero running too rich..?

I have an 86 Fiero 2M4 that is running way too rich. Every time i start it up it blows clouds of smoke out the exhaust but but other than the smoke the engine is immaculate. I was wondering if anybody knew how to make the engine run less rich, I'm a body guy so anyone with any bit of expertise please give me some assistance

Clean the throttle body and change the O2 sensor.
When they get dirty they start running on the rich side.
