Pontiac Fiero trunk blower fan?

Couldn't feel any air coming out of the cooling pipes so I pulled the fan from under the trunk carpet. Because it has a large fuse spliced into it's wires, I touched the ends to a battery to see if it still worked.
When given power, the motor would abruptly start and instantly stop again, whilst still being given power.
What could make it do this? Can an electric motor be rebuilt? Does anyone know where to find a new one?

The ONLY thing on the entire web that I could find was a picture of a motor in someone's Fiero engine swap.

I know this is an old thread, but, yes. an electrical motor can be rebuilt. They get "rewound" and cleaned with new brushes installed.

It only blows when the engine gets extremely hot. I have an 86 GT & have yet to witness the blower run.
