hi all ,

i have specially signed up on this forum , since i have a small leakage wich i cant say what this is , therefor i hope i can count on the knowledge from u :)

this grey cillinder thingie , that splits in 3 flexibles , what could this be? ( just above the GM cap )
if more photos are needed i can upload them afterwards

much appreciated

Transmission Control Spark Solenoid, TCS solenoid. Are one of the hoses connected to the vacuum advance on your distributor?

Yea that could be right , my friend his father mentioned this also , because he has abit knowledge of these things , now somethimes, (not that much ) , it dares to leak abit of oil , should i be worried or not?

There is no oil in the TCS. Are you sure we are talking about the same thing. Can you post a closer picture.

Ill update some extra pics soon. but is it hard to find new ones? Cuz im pretty sure thats its leaking and it needs to be replaced

It can leak antifreeze but not oil

hey , i found out what it is ,
here is the link with a diagraphic --> http://www.highperformancepontiac.com/tech/pon_0509_1973_emissions_control_systems/photo_09.html

now as u can see u have this "' dist.vac & time solenoid & there u have this black box drawned against the cillinder thingie like on the picture ,

out of that black box leaks a small amount of black paste , http://www.highperformancepontiac.com/tech/pon_0509_1973_emissions_control_systems/photo_02.html

now is that bad ? ive readed that it just was for a small reducing of the emissions back then , can this be removed or not?

okay , ive found out what it is ,

aside this grey cillinder thingie u have this black box , that black box is cracked , there leaks some kind of black sticky paste ,

http://www.highperformancepontiac.com/tech/pon_0509_1973_emissions_control_systems/photo_02.html

drawning of it

http://www.highperformancepontiac.com/tech/pon_0509_1973_emissions_control_systems/photo_09.html

so u have this " dist.vac & time delay solenoid " the box drawned there , thats what i am talking about

now ive readed that this just regulates the NOX for emissions back then
can this be removed or needs this to be fixed ?

i wouldent remove it or fix it just see if u can seal up the crack with some of that putty stuff that hardens

That is a solenoid for controlling vacuum to the distributor it has no fluids in it. It is there only for emissions purposes. Connect the hose from the carburetor directly to the distributor and disconnect the electric plug and wrap it with some electrical tape.
