i have a 92 firebird with a 3.1 fuel injected V6. the car will start, but idles very rough. as soon as you step on the gas it dies. I've checked and/or replaced fuel filter, pump, and injectors, spark plugs, plug wires, dist cap, and dist rotor. i was told might be a vacuum leak. i didn't see any bad vacuum lines. i don't have anymore ideas. someone please help!!

Check mass air flow sensor also throttle position sensor, and make sure the wires are in correct fireing order also check control modual'....check the spark on the wires make sure its bright blue...to see where the miss is just take 1 sparkplug wire off at a time and see when the motor doesn't change in tone ... you pull a wire loose and you cant tell a difference in sound on motor then you know it could have something to do with that cyl. umm can u slowly rev engine?.. when u say u changed pump you mean you droped the gas tank? cuz thats where it is..put a inline presure guage to get a read on gas presure...think its like 15 lbs idle 30 lbs rev 2500 rpm..not sure.. I sugjest remove the 3.1 and replace with a small block V8.... I put a 6.6 L in mine :)

i have 91 3.1L and im getting the same problems.. i have put a jumper wire in the diagnostic terminal and the car gave me a code 33 "map sensor". i have replaced that too and still get a map sensor code "after reseting computer".. i will post anything if i find out what is causing the problem
