I'm hoping to get a Firebird Trans am Ramair WS6 as my first car. I'm 16 and I've never driven a manual transmission before. To all who have driven both automatics and manuals, which do you prefer? Do you think manual is too difficult for a new driver to learn? Is manual better for the fun and the slight extra acceleration, or is automatic better for the ease? Is manual actually all that more fun?

Personally I dont think any Trans Am is appropriate as a first car for a new driver. You have enough to deal with watching out for every other person on the road, your friends who will be distracting you the stereo that will be distracting etc. Now you want to add to that combination a car that can easily get away from you because of its performance. Get some time under your belt and save your money, youre going to need a lot of it for a Trans Am W6, not to mention the cost of insuring a car like that with a 16 year old driver. Concerning manual vs. automatic it depends where you live, in a big city traffic jam manual can become tiresome quite quickly otherwise if thats not a concern go with the manual
