Okay. Here's a Pontiac I've owned.. Actually, I've owned a couple.. A 1988 Pontiac Firebird Formula in white with t-tops and a 305.. I ate-up a lot of 5.0 Mustangs back then.. I'd still love to get my hands on an LS1 TA in the future.. What about you? What have you owned? Have any pictures?

I know a guy with a Turbo Trans Am, and it is a beautiful blue. Maybe he will jump in here?

BTW, I have a 69 that is currently orange, but will be painted hopefully by end of summer 76 Anniversary Gold.

Post some pictures.. Progress pictures are cool. :)

I know the 301 Turbo gets no respect, some even call it the rodney dangerfield of engines....

But mine ran 14.21@97.3 mph. With a 4030 lb car! And only 3.08's and a THM350.

It would take you an built LT1 or a stock LS1 to beat me with a 4th gen T/A. And by then I would have my 301 running 12's.....

My mod list plans were 3.73's, THM200 4R, 4 Wheel disc and go to Car Crafts RSE competition....

Here is the chronicle of my T/A restoration. It's the whole story of the 2 times I have owned it really... long story but interesting.

Anyway, here is a pic:

Right? I'd be afraid to drive it. Never drive behind a tractor trailer. :p

Great story and a awesome car.

'77 Trans Am, numbers match, black on black. Nothing special, needs work, but not as much as some I've seen. Basically rust free though there's a few spots that need attention. Some damage to the paint. Engine runs smooth. Needs interior work (dash, carpet, package tray, seat covers, etc).

Officially, there was never a "Bandit" edition T/A, to my knowledge. All of them were the Special Edition T/A's which had particular styling cues such as gold painted grilles (instead of black), a gold instrument panel, center caps, shift knob, etc. That's one reason there's a lot of clones out there, since you can order most of what you need to do it from the repro houses.

And no, it's not a Bandit...just a garden-variety 6.6 (400) equipped '77 T/A. I'm thinking of a black-and-silver scheme for it, to make it different from the dime-a-dozen black-and-gold T/A's out there. A bit more work on the steering and wiring, and she's a driver again! Then bodywork and paint, and a new interior, and some serious engine detailing (it runs fine but does have an exhaust leak).

Actually I have two firebirds right now, my 78 T/A that I bought in Feb of 79 and a 72 firebird with a 76 formula hood.
