Im not really a pontiac fan but is anybody else mad that the pontiac g8 has been discontinued. It only lasted a few years but was an amazing looking car with good performance and was worth the money. Do you think it will ever come back?? I heard talks about chevy taking it over but dont think that is happening>

The Pontiac G8 was an Australian made car rebadged as a Pontiac in the US they are also sold in England rebadged as Vauxhalls and in the middle east rebadged as Chevrolet , so the car is still available and is a very good car
It is called a Holden in Australia and is a top seller over here
All the aforementioned brands are under the GM banner
If you know who the Stig is (Top Gear) it is his favourite car

The G8 is dead dead dead, it's not coming back. It was originally thought to be coming back as a Caprice SS but Fritz Henderson axed that idea a while ago. The police issued Caprice is coming back but it's slightly larger than a G8 so it's not a direct rebadge...and they won't be available to the public until the police are done with them and sell them off at auctions.

while the G8 is dead it's chassis still lives on in the 5th gen camaro and new chevrolet police caprice.. however autoblog a few days ago reported that gm is again doing further testing on a g8 model and it's possible markets.. why would they look for a market for a model their not going to make anymore? your guess is as good as mine but it makes me think it'll come back as a caprice to the public.. or even the impala as it was supposed to be remodeled in 2011..

I agree I dont understand what GM is doing on this one. I think they are confused themselves and waiting to see what happens over time. It is interesting however, Holden is now going to make an upgraded version on the Commodore for several thousand "$?" more that will sell the "American" version of the G8 styling to the Aussies's..... The car will be virtually identical (maybe some small minor differences-right hand driven, etc..) as to the "US sold" G8's- not sure if they are trying to use up extra material they have or what...... Ps... this news is fairly recent news so we will have to see how it turns out.... It could change at any minute....
