I went to get my car fixed yesterday because I was leaking power steering fluid bad enough to put in 2-3 containers of fluid a day.
They replaced the main hose that connects to the pump, but said that I have another hose that was leaking as well.If I look underneath the car, I see that there is dripping from the drivers side, and not the whole middle as before.
Can a car have 2 hoses for power steering? I dont know whether I got jipped because I'm a female and paid 216 to get the main hose repaired.
And can you tell me what the name of this other hose is so I can go and purchase it and have a friend mechanic install it.
Thanks!!!!
and my car doesnt sound any better.. in fact, the grinding noise has gotten a little worse, even with full fluid now. Is it because you can hear the sound from 1 hose now instead of the split hose that was replaced?

It really irks me when I hear stories like this. They took you for
$216.00 and left you with a car that is still leaking and probably has
a bad power steering pump. Just what kind of repair facility has the
set of jacks to do this kind of work ? That power steering pump is
probably going to grind even after you fix the next problem. Which
they should have told you is either the return line, pressure line, or
something else. I would get a straight answer from them, they owe
you that. Next, get your friend to take a good look under there and
check things over, unfortunately you probably need a power steering
pump , a second hose ( any one of them at this point ), And possibly
a flush, but take things one step at a time.

email me if you have any questions.

Good Luck to you

Well for 216 dollars it sounds like the power steer pressure hose was replaced. the other line is the power steer return line. less pressure in this hose but it can still leak. have someone tighten the clamps before you have it replaced.
