you help? My 1999 Pontiac Grand Am was recently taken to the shop for overheating and coolant all draining from the overflow after it was parked. The shop replaced the thermostat and the radiator cap and didn't have anymore problems until now.Now the last couple of days after I have parked it there has been coolant running out of the overflow again but not all draining out like before.Leaking from the passenger side up towards the front and pretty sure it is coming from the overflow from the coolant jug.Can you diagnose this problem? Thanks!!!!
The engine only previously overheated one time before the parts were replaced.

the engine may have been damaged by the previous overheats. or it could be a defective t-stat.

Depending on the engine it could have an intake leak (V6) or a bad head gasket..
3.1 V6s are prone to intake gasket and head gasket issues when overheated
the 4 cyl engines are prone to head gasket leaks ..
the chances of the replacment thermostat being bad aren't that good , I would suggest having a pressure test done to see if there are nay issues with the gaskets ...
