So i have a 2003 Pontiac grand am and it just started making a clicking noise when i turn the AC to the lowest setting (1). Then if i put the AC to a higher setting 3,4,5 it goes away. What is the cause of the clicking problem, and what is the solution?

Is the clicking noise a second or more apart? It is the compressor engaging and disengaging (it has a electro-magnetic clutch) for low setting.
You may notice this also when using your defrosters in cold weather because the automakers designed the a/c to come on to dry the air as it is being heated to clear your windows. It doesn't come on in the other hot selections.

A/C compressor clutch is cycling. At a higher demanded speed it stays on. Normal operating system.
