Pontiac Grand Am

Hey, I was wondering if anyone could help me
I have a '96 Grand Am Se, 3.1 V6, and it will not start.
You put the key in the switch, and it will not turn at all.
I love this car, and want to have it, any help is appreciated.
Note, we just finished replacing the lifters, so I really don't want to have to get rid of this fine vehicle.

Any advice is helpful
Try the ignition switch/ or try the antilock steering wheel mechanism may be the problem good luck

Well, I also have a 96 Grand Am and mine wouldn't start, I also didn't know what to do, I put in a new ignition switch and it started right up

I love my '94 Grand Am GT. You can refer to my intro post for a picture:

My other car is a Trans Am, and I still love the GA too, so that should say something. Even though it doesn't have the power, it has awesome handling and is fun to drive.

The only problem I'm having with this car is detailed in this thread, so if anyone has any ideas what the problem can be, I would appreciate any ideas:

I don't care what I have to get replaced or rebuilt, I'd rather keep this car going as long as possible than get a new car. It is just too damn beautiful to get rid of it. It's a work of art compared to new cars. The stock '94 GA GT is what every car with aftermarket body kits wishes it looked like. Look at that beautiful GT body... yet it's classy, not ghetto.

Pontiac ran off this Grand Am customer from newer Grand Ams when they gave it the tin can look in '99, and if I ever get a G6, it will only be by default, and the license plate will be RIP GA 94.
