Pontiac LeMans Question

I have been interested in purchasing a LeMans for a project car. I am not a mechanic so this is for learning purposes for myself.

I came across this car for sale and the front looks like a 1970 LeMans but the side has a trim that goes all the way down the body. I cannot seem to find any pictures on the net with a car with this trim. I was just wondering if this looks like a 1970's to you?

It is a 4 speed 350 engine. Unfortunately it does not have a transmission currently.

thats body side molding which was availalbe at any parts store. one of the owners or the dealer installed it.

Search the net for VIN id sites; then you can input the vin and find out what the car should be. As mentioned that trim can be bought at places like PepBoys and added by owners to prevent door dings. As to the car it looks to have lots of rust and in need of some advanced body repair/replacement skills.
