Well, here it comes.. The first two-seater from Pontiac since the Fiero.. This car looks Really nice.. I'd love to see some pictures posted here.. Anyone have any? Let's get some discussions going about the Pontiac Solstice!

Hehe.. Wouldn't it protrude into the trunk? :p Yeah, it's probably not going to be very fast.. It should be.. Pontiac needs a fast two-seater, as far as I'm concerned.. Something to compete with the Corvette, maybe.. Or even if it's just beneath it.. There will probably be a quicker version eventually - but not fast.. I just don't see it.. I think this is more lined-up to compete with the Mazda Miata, Honda S2000 and Toyota MR2 Spyder...

THM425 or a THM325 4L with a 455 maybe?

The original Firebird looked a lot like the Vette did, C2 or C3 timeframe....

I think they should be built like the 427 Cobra. Aluminum 400 Pontiac, 6 speed stick, corvette C4 rear end, or go with aluminum 400 and a C5/C6 transaxle. I mean the rear transaxle IS Pontiac's design, so why not???

Even the Fiero, Pontiac's last two seater, was pretty weak. I don't know why they don't want to make these two seaters perform a little better.. I think the Buick Velite is a two-seater that's going to have good power...

You know, there was some people dropping 301 Pontaics in the Fieros.

There was a guy in Kansas City was putting in SB Chevies in Fieros. He had a 406 SBC with a tunnel ram and 4 750 Holleys popping up outside the rear window. He said it buzzes Porsche's real nice at 170mph............

Old School HP

Nice.. Fieros look the part, it's nice to hear that some can play the part.. Have you heard about the Northstar being in Fieros as well? That's 300 high-tech horsepower in a small car...

That would be amazing.. Imagine?! I'd definitely love to own an LS1 Fiero...

Did you ever see the 1990 Fiero? The proto was done. Looks like they had a winner, but killed it....

Shame the Reatta replaced the Fiero and went wrong wheel drive (WWD). But finally got the right drivetrain, if they would have just stuck in a Buick 3800 in a Fiero with a 4T60 trans that would have been awesome!

I did see the photos of the prototype.. Very hot.. I can't believe they killed that car.. I loved it...

I think that car is very awesome looking. But i dont see it competing with the vette. pluse pontiac is owened by GM and the vette is also by GM. but i think the GTO is up there with the vette. I just wish the GTO would of be made here in the states and not half way cross the country. but yes that car is awesome i seen a commercial for it and my mouth dropped. i never thought it was possible lol.

If it weren't so heavy, it would be about as fast as the Vette.. I think it actually gets a gas guzzler tax...

Does anyone know when the Solstice GT should be up for grabs? Because im highly considering purchasing the regular Solstice this summer, I think its a great looking car and has a reasonable price tag. I know im a hardcore Ford guy but there is something about this car that very appealing to me. On top of that i want to experience a brand new car and at the same time get a feel for GM :D To be honest im not familiar with modifications for GM cars, I wondering what would be the best thing to do to it once i purchase it. Im thinking a light supercharger running at about 9psi nothing too crazy. What else would you recommend and what companies you guys think are gonna develop upgrades for the Solstice as soon as it hits the market.

fiero power

the fiero crowed is awaiting the 2006 G-6. we want to steal the 6-speed manual that they plan to put in these cars. also the ls-3 (I think that is what they are calling them so dont hold me to this!) V-8 that pontiac is putting into the high end grand prix. it is a version of the ls-1 with the FWD bellhousing pattern on the block. :)

the v-8 in the grand prix is designated LS4. there will be a turbo version of the solstice one year after release with around 240hp. not sure why pontiac didn't throw in the cobalt ss motor(2.2l supercharged). it already makes 240hp stock(though GM rates it at 205). maybe the engine would sit too high with the s/c. should be very quick with the 6sp.
