Pontiac sunfire transmission?

im looking for the best transmiaaion for a 1998 pontiac sunfire se im all for performance perferably a 6 spped automatic because i dont feel like modifying the clutch and all that mess

changing transmissions involves changing a lot of things. If you have a manual, youre going to have to modify the hump to accomodate the new shifter. YOu will have to get adapters to mate the transmission to the engine as nothing is universal. Also, you will have to put a torque converter onto the rear of the engin...output shaft.. because a manual transmission uses a fly wheel that engages the transmission through friction when it contacts the clutch plate. Automatics are constantly engaged and are responsive to torque inputs from the engine when you accelerate.
