Can you give me an idea why my Pontiac Torrent sounds like there is fluid under it whenever I stop? It sounds like my car is gargling when ever I stop and the dealership keeps saying it's my brakes even thought they have replaced my brakes 3 times in the last 20,000 miles. It's like they don't want to look past the brakes. I feel confident that the car will stop, but I don't think that it should sound like fluid is gargling under it whenever I stop.

Any idea why this is happening?

Did you take someone from the dealership out for a test drive so they can hear the sound?

Sometimes vehicles with ABS will make a fluid sound when the ABS motor activates during a stop .. but I would say if it didn't do it before, it should be something that they should check into further
the only other thing I could think of would be fuel sloshing in the tank ...
seems I remember a "few" vehicles that had issues with tank baffles breaking loose in the tanks letting fuel slosh around causing noise..
can't remember if that was one of them ..

I just want to say that you're so right about the dealer not wanting to look past the brakes (problems) I'm having problem with my dealer too, the NORTH COUNTY BUICK CADILAC GMC in Escondido California 92029. They don't fix things right and I have to come back every time they work on my car.
