pontiac Torrent, what is your opinion on this vehicle?

I'm thinking about getting one. I've read the reviews and crash tests results on it, and both where pretty good. But I would love to get some personal thought on them. I've owned two grand prixs in the past and was very satisfied with both.
 
hi !!!!! everyone has there bad and goods to say about there torrent !!!!!! had the torrent about a year ago it's a good suv i got awd torrent !!!!! gas is not bad just when on vacation drive 2100 kms getting 9.5 liters to 100 kms that not bad in town it's a little higher but that every car or truck it ride good lot of room for going on vacation but there will know for wheelbearing just had to put one in cost 500 bucks !!!!! overall i give the torrent a 9 !!!!! so far i only had it a year ago maybe in two year it may be 2 just kidding.

Hi I live in Colima Mexico, I have a 2007 Torrent, with 41800Km, since I bought it I traveled 2 times from Colima to Houston, TX, in my opinion, is a very good SUV, very comfortable, not too much fuel consumption, but, there´s only one detail that I don´t like since I bought it, after one year after my purchase, the steering wheel column started to make a strange noise, like a pitter-patter, I took it to the diferent dealers, they told me that the Torrent, Malibu and I don´t remember wich other model, had that problem.

I just bought a used Torrent and love it. Looked around at other SUV's and always came back to this one. The gas mileage is similar to my 2001 Bonneville. Lots of room and fun to drive. I have heard of some common GM problems like wheel bearings and brakes but that comes with owning a vehicle. Nothing is built to last forever. I am sure you will be pleased with it.
 
I know this thread is a bit old but thought I would add my .02

I bought my moms '06 Torrent for my wife to drive, it now has about 95,000 kms and have had no real problems. It's a nice little SUV, and does everything I think it should. Mind you, it drives me nuts that I hit my head on the lift gate ALL THE TIME (but I'm 6'2"), and I find the cup holder location pretty stupid...but other than these minor things it is a good car overall.
