when i start accelerating i get a pop noise, seems like its coming from the right from wheel, the noise occurs again every gear shift exept for 5th. today it started sounding like a bad cv axle, allthough its grinding at a lower speed.

my transmission also seems to be making a gurgling noise when accelerating at low rpm slowly.

also when going up hills at low rpm and low speed (30 playground zone) it starts to jump forward and back, like the effect you get when you have a bad start in a manual when you first start. i hope somebody here can help me out! 2 weeks ago i had no problem. an oh yeah, i think its unrelated but my alternater went yesterday,

is the check engine light on?

did you check the fluid level in the trani? how many miles since you changed air and fuel filters? you may have a bad wheel bearing or cv causing the grinding sound.

fuel filter was changed about 60000 km ago. wheel bearing was changed last month. trani fluid level seems high.

You could check your motor mounts. If they're worn out it they might let the engine twist under moments of high torque.

In my Sunbird, the front engine mount and the transmission mount are pretty much shot so occasionally it will feel like its lugging when I get on the throttle.

seems like the noise is coming from the right front end, i think my upper motor mount might be shot. the engine moves about 1.5 inches when accelerating. also moves about 1 cm when im just doing up a bolt. is it supposed to move that much?

im replacing my cv axle today for fun pretty much, i will post on here if it helped me.

1.5 inches? That is quite a bit of play. Mind, this would also be accompanied with excessive vibration, especially at idle.
