Possible to add cruise on 08 Torrent AWD?

We purchased an 08 Torrent AWD last May and we do really like it. The only problem is that is doesn't have cruise. Is it possible to just change the steering wheel to add the switches for the cruise? Being the vehicle is drive by wire I would expect all the hardware and software is present so maybe I just would have to take it to a dealer and have it "activated". I know a number of '13 and '14 cars are this way and I was hoping the Torrent would be like this too.

I did find some aftermarket "stalk" that could be screwed to the column shroud and then wired into the vehicle. I figured if this works why couldn't I just add the factory switches.

Looking at the aftermarket units it appears you could take the approach of replacing the steering wheel and having the dealer program the BCM. Just remember first you have to find an undamaged wheel and second you will be dealing with airbags and their associated precautions.

melsg5, thanks for the reply and comments. I have dealt with steering wheel air bags on a couple of my other vehicles so am comfortable with the precautions that need to be taken. I will just have to start searching junk yards to see if I can find an appropriate steering wheel and switches.
