So I went to change the presumably 163000 mile power steering fluid in my 2006 montana sv6 awd 3.5 and came across something ive never seen. The fluid was brown when I started, and every now and then the steering wouldn't give assist, so I figured the fluid was old and broken down. Bought power steering fluid and proceeded to start flushing it by draining the reservoir, pumping the last of the fluid up by turning the wheel, fill the reservoir, start the car, repeat. I got about a liter if old fluid out and now when I start the car there's no assist and the fluid in the reservoir is frothy. Please help!

the clamp on the reservoir nipple for the low pressure return line must have been very tired. I replaced it with a worm clamp and all is well

Glad to hear you solved it. Usually i use something like a turkey baster to suck most of the fluid and then refill.
