Just purchased a 1997 Firebird....powered drivers window yesterday and it would not go back up. This AM tried it and it went up so I know the window motor is good. Now inop again.Purchased a new switch still no go. I found a old GM service bulletin that says for inop windows or door locks to replace all the switches. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks in advance for your help!!

You have to open door panel and check when it's not working if power is going to the motor.

It's the rail mechanism binding and causing the motor to overheat and go into safety shutoff. Same issue with my 2002 TA and had to replace the mechanism arm. Does it go up a little bit at time between attempts like an inch or two before stopping? (enough time to let the motor cool, 5-10mins).
