advice please! ? I own a 98 Pontiac firebird and recently I've been having acceleration issues. Now, just last night i start the car and it starts rumbling and the engine sounds like its trying to get air maybe. Still the problem with acceleration but worst, and my car rumbles, engine light flashes, and on brake at red light every minute or so i feel rumble in the back.

My dad said it could be the vacuum plugs. What do you think?
p.s. i got a tune up this past summer and tramission flush.

Depending on how long you had the car, how well you maintained the car, all play into the factor. How many miles on it? Have you changed the air filters? Does the oil smell like gas? You may have spun a bearing and it is on its last legs! Is it the V-6 or the V-8, What kind of gas have you been using? did anyone else use the car and put that flex fuel in it? (that will damage a car REAL QUICK)
You could bring it in and have a mechanic take a look at it and get it diagnosed! If repairs are to high get a newer car and take care of it better! (lol) So Good Luck!

Sounds like your missing a cylinder.
Check your spark plugs, spark plug wires, and coil.
Don't drive any further than you have to.
You can cause serious damage to you car.

take the air filter out and see if it runs better then come back

check the air filter, soundslike you may have a few plugs that need replacing. check if the electric jet on the carb is connected
