need help!. Im looking into buying a fiero. I dont know much about them, if you guys can help me out nd direct me in the right direction would be great!.
My question is what are their common flaws. I.e mechanical, electrical etc..pros and cons. And are they reliable in snow!???...appreciate the time nd information guys.

Welcome aboard. There are a few members on here that are very knowledgeable about Fiero's, and I'm sure they can fill you in on what to look for. Good luck with your search.

I am no Fiero expert but I have been tearing into my engine a few times to fix some issues. The most notable flaw mechanically I have run across is the EGR vacuum line. My old one bust open after being brazed for the 3rd time. I replaced that and I now have no more high idling. Reliability is subjective to how well you maintain the vehicle and therefore mine is completely reliable. Parts do break and wear out after a good 2 decades. As for the snow... I imagine it will work a little better than a 2WD lamborghini; being a mid engine sports car with rear wheel drive. Much of the weight is nearing the back of the car.

EDIT: My car has the 2.8L V6 -- just as a reference. And also, stock setups work well, but once you look for more power keep in mind both 2.5L and 2.8L have pretty weak blocks.

I have 1988 GT with T-Tops in Va. 22485. I only show this car! It's in show room trim with 20,800 org. miles. have won lots of awards. Red with gray inter. 5speed --with few made and not many left on the road today!! This little car as only going UP in value! Dennis 540-775-3116 PS. never be in the SNOW :)

I understand they suck in snow.
'84 was prone for electrical fires., only comes with 4 cyl., plus other '84 only model differences... wiring, engine lid.. etc..
'85-'87 are great cars, brakes aren't that great. 4 and 6 cyl. available.
'88, over-all are the best bang for the buck, better brakes, better suspension.
On any car...Look for rust, especially if it is a northern car. It could be shiny and beautiful but rotten underneath.
'84-'85 are coupes only, including GT
'86-'88 are coupes, GT has a Fastback body.

You will, with any old car, have issues due to age and mileage. Some parts may be hard to find, but not impossible. Its best to have some working knowledge of electrical and mechanical devices, or plenty of money to have it fixed.

I own a '86 SE V6 and '88 Formula
