Hi I am new here and my parents was telling me about their grand am. Are there any rare grand am se out there? Because they told me that after taking the car to a Chevy dealership in Florida to have the horn assembly replaced. They dealership has constantly called them and sent letters wanting this car badly. My father was out and had a guy offer him 15 grand for the car right there. They say there are people that walks by it and some does a double take when looking at it.

I know nothing about gm cars as my name suggests I am a Dakota owner. I have nothing against gm products just not my cup of tea. I figure I would come here and ask this question as some of you should know an answer.

So thank you for your time and look fwd to some info on this car.

generally speaking there is nothing rare about a grand am se unless you are leaving some aspect of this car out of the description. The dealerships always send these letters out and it means nothing special. As far as price you havent given much information but you can go to a site such as www.edmunds.com and see that a base 2000 SE is worth about 3K. If someone was willing to lay out 15k take the money and run.

The car looks no different from any other red grand am I have seen on the road. I see nothing special about the car and wouldn't know what to look for. I know nothing about grand ams. Most of my knowledge is in Dakotas and know there are some rare ones due how limited a color was used on certain years like patriot blue. Or the Motorsport edition they came out with. Which I know it isn't the color of the paint red was the common color used for those cars.

As far as dealerships I have had one that really wanted my 94 cougar back in 95. Some lady was looking for one with the options and color I had. You could tell he was desperate but I loved my car.

I told my mother a person offer 15 grand I would take it but she loves the car.

Thanks for the quick response.

If you really want to know about that vehicle, send the VIN to GM and ask for their records on it. They should be able to tell you everything about the car as it left the factory, all the options (excluding dealer installed options).
