I know GM used a lot of the same parts for both cars. You can fairly easily take off the front bumper, fender, headlights of a 3rd generation Camaro, and swap them onto a Firebird. Same goes with interior parts, etc.
My question relates to the 2nd generation, though. A quick glance at a 1980 Camaro and Trans Am, makes it look like you can take the front off one, and place it on the other.
Does this apply for all years of 2nd generation, though? Could I take a 1980 Firebird body, and put a 1970 front end on it? Seems like I should be able to.
I've tried searching a few times, haven't found something that definitively states that all body panels within a certain generation can be swapped. Or if certain parts can't be swapped?
Thanks!
