Quick transmission question

Hiya all, I've got a quick question here, maybe two~
I pulled a Pontiac 400 engine/transmission out of my 71 Parisienne not too long ago, and now I see a very nice 68 Parisienne on the market, but with no engine or transmission. What I want to know is, what transmission came behind the 400 in the 71, and will it mate up nicely to the driveshaft of the 68? I believe it might be a TH 350 or 400. Anyone know?
EDIT: Oh! Also, the 68 is a 2+2, what the heck does this mean?

2+2 = 2 seats fron, 2 seats back. If it was an auto tranny it would have been a 3 speed auto in 68. MAYBE a 4 speed. That was rare though. Not a TH 350 or TH400. Not to sure what they were called then.

No, no, sorry, that's not what I was asking, I should have been clearer.
I HAVE a turbo hydramatic 400 and a 400CID that I want to put into the 68, which has no engine or transmission at this time. Will they fit nicely to the driveshaft, or am I in for modification?
Here is a diagram I found that has the lenghts, etc.

No, no, that's not what I meant, sorry for being so unclear.
What I need to know is if the TH400 that I already have, as well as the Pontiac 400 that I already have out of the 71, will fit nicely into the 68 without any modification? It is a solid body and rough interior, and with no engine or transmission at this time. Here's a diagram of the transmissions of this era:

Correcting the length of the driveshaft would be quite a pain in the ass, wouldn't it?

You will have to do some measuring underneath for one to make sure the mounts are the same. The tranny that you have is a larger tranny than factory, youll have to replace the driveshaft for sure. What is your plans for the car? Are you going to make it a show car? A daily driver? or just some fun on the weekend? You will be putting a lot of money into that ride. Unless you can do all the work yourself.

Thankyou kindly.
I am told that 2+2 perhaps stands for two seats, two body styles instead?
Guess I'll just have to stick the tranny on and see if it fits, lolz. If not, I'll have to have the driveshaft extended, retracted? Is this a pricy job? I'd think not.
Best regards,
Jared

The engine and trans will bolt right up. The 2 + 2 was the performance version and should have come factory with the TH400. You shouldn't have to modify the driveshaft but if so cost should be minimal. Last one I had done was less than 50.00. Buy the 2 + 2, they are collectable.

Yes it is ...
The Pontiac Bonniville/Parisienne from approx 65 to the mid 70s will use simmilar Engine Trans components the differences are the engine mounting up to the mid 70s models changed slightly and may require you to change out the engine mounts and or the frame mounts to match each other ..
The TH-400 was a common trans for both platforms but they also used a different version The TH-375 which was a combination of TH-400 and TH-350 parts in a different case..
but in either case you should be able to source all the parts to install the engine in the 2+2 chassis with the TH-400..
