I finally got my hands on a series 2 3800sc. My 4-speed manual will bolt up right? And I have the ecu, what do I have to modified to make that work?

Off the top of my head, I can't think of a car with a 3.8 SC that wasn't an automatic, whach means that the ECU is going to be throwing tranny codes. As far as the 4 speed, not sure, what did it come off of, or at least which one is it?

My experience is that early ECMs contained both auto and manual tranny software and would work just fine in either without causing codes.

the 3.8 is out of a 98 bonnevilee. its was an automatic. Will i be able to use the ecu out of the bonn?

You're better off using the ECU out of the Bonnie, and whatever else you can grab the the ECU reads. I don't know how far back rise474 was referring to, but the Bonnie was an OBD II, and I'm pretty sure it looked for an automatic. I did get to thinking, though, they dropped the 3.8's into the Camaros and Firebirds, the ECU may have the ability to have the option switched on by someone with the correct tooling.

Yes you can use the ECU from the Bonnie with a manual transaxle. The ECU just needs to be flashed to change the trans part. You can contact Ryan at http://www.gmtuners.com/
He can help you with all aspects of a 3800SC swap into a Fiero including how to wire the ECU into the Fiero harness.

Thanks everyone! This is about to be one hell of a build
