Radio theftlock problems - Pontiac sunfire?

My 2001 Pontiac Sunfire is exceedingly paranoid. For some reason it always seems to think it's getting stolen because I will be driving down the road and next thing I know my radio will just shut off and the little theftlock light will start flashing. It won't turn back on no matter what buttons I push.
Sometimes I am able to trick it into thinking everything is okay by shutting off the car, closing and locking the doors, unlocking them, getting back in, starting the car back up, etc. But this only works sometimes.
Sometimes it will turn back on all by itself while I am driving. This whole scenario happens about once or twice a week. Does anyone know what the heck is going on or how I can fix this?

sounds like a problem with the radio internally so i would just go with a an aftermarket cd player

Ok i had the same problem. so i went after market. buy a plug kit that plugs into the stock harness than into the aftermarket harness. but with the antitheft stereo it wouldnt turn the aftermarket on. so I ran the main power wire in the fuse panel inside the car. and i have a competiton system in my car and works great. please take my advise cause i have been there
