raido station light/clock

Whats the deal with the radios in Pontiac's?
My 98 Firebird, my sons 97 Grand Am,and his friends 99 Grand Am all do not light up so you don't know what radio station you are on or what time it is. Is there an easy fix or do we have to pull the radio out and send it to a repair /radio shop to get this done?
Anyone know, please let me know.

typically the bulb is burnt out and needs to be replaced. it usually requires some soldering skill.
