I was driving home when I came to a stoplight. When sitting there, I heard nothing but my car had completely shut off/stalled. I turned it back on with no problem but the car was shaking and a hammer noise was starting. I drove it around in a nearby parking lot and it went away. I started going home again and it was doing it all over again, this time it wouldn't stop. My dad has a code checker so we used it and it said "Random spark code". We initially thought it was bad gas because when the car was shaking we'd get a bad burning gas smell. We changed the spark plugs and don't know what to do now. My car has 102,000 miles on it. Please help.

how about spark plug wires and coil

It could be either the coil in cover (plug wires) or a fuel related issue, anytime you have a multiple missfire it is either spark or fuel related (90%) of the time ..
replacing the plugs is part of it but if the coil/assemblys are bad they will also cause problems but so will dirty injectors and clogged fuel filters ..
if you remove the coil pack and the coils looked good (no cracking or carbon tracking under the cover I would try a can of good grade fuel injector cleaner and see what happens ...
