RE: '92 "H" short block into a '90 "K" chassis

Hi guys. I hoping someone could possibly steer me in the right direction on this one. My '90 Sunbird has eaten a second head gasket at 85k. The first went at 57k. We suspect an undetected crack in the head, and possibly the block is now also compromised. Neither Jasper, or ATK rebuild the Dp73 (ATk's pt. #) "K" engine anymore. But the '92 "H" engine is available.

Other than the cam profile, and TBI vs. MPFI, is there any mechanical differences that would prevent me from using the '92 "H" engine in it's place with a '90 TBI setup?

Thanks!

I suppose the thing that has me wondering most is that the H engines all seem to have delete plates where a distributor would ordinarily mount on a K engine. Would it be possible to make that changeover. Becasue otherwise everything else seems to line up accordingly.

Well, change of plan.....

Found a NOS head for the K engine that's in it. I'm just going to build that instead.

We'll see....
