The rear brakes would sieze when cold during a sudden stop. Would be ok once warmed up. Pads were replaced and drums machined bu problem continues to this day. Not so bad in summer but can give quite a jolt when cold in the winter and vehicle has sat for a period of time, say overnight. I was wondering if replacing them rears with disc brakes would solve the problem.
That would be an expensive solution. I'm sure you installed aftermarket brake shoes. Remove them and install the original GM shoes I had the same problem and that solved it.
