I bought my first car when I was 16. It is a ‘72 Lemans 2dr coupe Luxury Edition. It’s been 10years now and I would like to finally put some work into it. I wouldn’t do anything major because it was my daily driver. Now it just sits and I want to learn how to rebuild my car. I really want some opinions on what I should do or how I should start. I am not looking to go back to stock (it never was stock), I would rather turn it into a GTO clone or a bada** Street Lemans. I am also working from a home garage... all ideas are welcome. Btw it has a Pontiac 350 that I want to upgrade to a Pontiac 400 or 455. (All engine work will be referred out but will take opinions on what I should get done.). Please and Thanks

You have to establish a budget and then get prices on things you want to do. You also have to see what maintenance items are required just to continue making it drivable. In addition to engine work you could also consider tires, wheels, and suspension.

I am gonna consider everything for sure. The car runs and drives. I am just looking for a 455 to swap with the 350. If I can at least track one down, that would be great. I plan to make a list of what I need for engine/trans/suspension,etc. just don’t know where to really start besides tracking down a 455.

You can find built one's at Butler and Wallace Racing.
