I have found the two nuts that hold the support for the antenna inside the trunk, but I can't see what is holding the outside antenna base to the inside the trunk portion. I'm assuming there is a nut somewhere, but I can't find it. Anyu help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Thanks melsg5! Looks like I'll have to hop in the trunk on my back to have a better look up there to see what's going on then. I felt around earlier but couldn't feel anything, so wasn't sure if the nut was hidden somewhere on the inner or the outer piece. I'll report back...

Solved!

Turns out there is not a threaded connection between the inner and outer piece to clamp them in place. It is simply a pressure fit inside the rubber fender mount grommet (#2 in the picture - file provided by melsg5 in the earlier reply post). After removing the bolts (#3 in the picture), and disconnecting the antenna wire heading to the radio (#5 in the picture), you just apply some downward pressure to the whole bracket assembly (#4 in the picture) and it will release from the rubber fender mount grommet.
