1968 Lemans; 2 door; manual windows; I have disassembled everything I can on the vent window but I cannot get the vent channel out of the door. I still have the window in the door. Do I have to remove the window to remove the vent channel from the door. I have tried turning the channel every way I possible can and I cannot get the channel out with the window still in the door. It always get stuck at the top of the window opening. There does not seem to be enough room with the window still in the door Any tricks to this one ? Thanks . . . JIMB

Eliminating the vent windows

I also plan on eliminating the vent windows .

I Will have to fab larger window frames and re locate he power window mechanisms. But most of the P/W stuff needs to be done anyway.

Work ... But well worth it.

I have seen a 57 H.T. without them It was sooooo coooool made the roof line really nice.

Pull out the vent windows out look at the roof line and youll never go back.

Vent windows do vent well and also offer a thief a excellent entry.

But with AC who needs them ??

Considering what youll pay to bring all the vent window crap up to snuff it makes the mod even more attractive.

If I can find my pic of the ventless 57 HT I will post it later.

If I remember correctly the main window glass has to be removed before you can remove the vent window. I believe the vent window frame is also the front window track of the main window.
