I've been trying to figure out how to get the old ignition switch out and cannot figure it out. I'm not trying to get just the lock cylinder but the entire switch. Maybe I have to remove the lock cylinder first? Anyone know how to get this ignition switch out? Thanks for any help anyone can provide!

the bezel that surrounds the switch has three notches. Turn the bezel counter clockwise using the notch and a screwdriver with a cloth wrapped around the tip to prevent damage or buy the special tool to remove it.

Thanks for the help, melsg5! I tried turn it counter clockwise before and it seemed like it got to a point where it was just spinning loose but not coming off. Should it just unscrew entirely off?

did you try pulling back on the switch when you got to that point?

I did pull a little but didn't know if i was supposed to be pulling on it and was nervous about breaking something. Should I try pulling it out at that point again?

You will need to first remove the lock cylinder to get the ignition switch bezel nut off. To remove the lock cylinder, insert ignition key in cylinder. Turn the key to accessory position. Insert the end of a paper clip into the small hole in the face of the lock cylinder. You will feel a small spring loaded pin in the hole. Depress the pin and the cylinder will turn a little bit farther to the left and will pull straight out.
To reinstall lock cylinder, make sure the new switch is in the accy. position. Insert lock cylinder (with key installed) turned to match the accessory position of the new switch. Push in and turn to the off position. This will lock the cylinder into the switch.
Let us know how you make out.
Good Luck, Jim

Excellent description. Thank you! :)
